Expect to see a vehicle with MCG of Maine signage conducting inspections for Strong’s revaluation
Strong’s assessing company, Municipal Consulting Group of Maine (MCG), is starting exterior property visits for our revaluation process. If you see an unknown vehicle on your property with MCG logos, rest assured they are there on the town’s behalf.
A revaluation is the process of updating all town property values to reflect their current market rate. It redistributes the existing tax base so all property owners pay their fair share based on what their property would sell for today.
This is a state-mandated process, so keeping our assessments in-line with market value will keep Strong compliant and eligible to receive the maximum state funding for things like Homestead exemptions.
The listing agent’s job is to update the information the town has on file for your property. If you have a house or other buildings on your property, they will request an interior inspection as well, but you can schedule this for a later time.
